Father & Daughter Square Dance

I am so excited that Fallon and Adam had a great time at the Square Dance. Both of them had a lot to share. Apparently there were many dads & daughters, a professional square dance caller, food, door prizes, and MUCH dancing. I was anxious for Adam to see Fallon in her element. She has so many friends that range from kinder to eighth grade. Plus, I knew both of her 6th grade buddies would be there. She is so "at home" with her school so the following story did not surprise me: After some square dancing, Fallon decided it would be a blast for everyone to do the Cha Cha Slide (I don't know where she gets it). She went up to the not-so-young square dance caller and said, "Hey, can we do the Cha Cha Slide?" Well, when she started this conversation she didn't realize that she was leaning into his microphone clipped to his shirt. Everyone started cheering. Sadly, he had to tell her that he was not familiar with that...to which the crowd let out a collective sigh. I applaude this young 5 year old for trying to orchestrate a school dance. Maybe next time.

MEANWHILE...Birkley and I enjoyed another Birkley&Mommy night. This is becoming her "reward" for making good choices at her school during naptime. A couple of weeks ago, she decided that singing loudly to wake up her friends during naptime would be great fun at school. On our nights, Birkley chooses the activities. We started with dinner, followed by a long bath in Mommy's bubble tub, and cuddled in my big bed while watching Madagascar. I don't think I have a bigger fan in the world than this little girl. The amount of love she can give in one gesture is enough to last a lifetime. WOW!

Maybe Birkley and Audrey can hear each other across the miles. Audrey sings EVERY DAY at naptime...
