Background Information

So, we live in the little town of Gurley (technically) BUT we are part of the much larger Huntsville community. This city keeps surprising me with its attractions and rich history. For example, during the Civil War it was occupied by the Union troops but very little was damaged. Therefore, it has the largest collection of antebellum homes (and they are gorgeous)...so are the churches. It is also home to the Nasa Space and Rocket Center. Huntsville has the largest number of engineers per capita than anywhere in the U.S.A.. Its nickname is "Rocket City." The Space and Rocket Museum is amazing. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for buying us a membership there. It is hard to believe that if we had not moved here, many of these things I would never have seen. The saying here goes, "The only problem with Huntsville is that it is surrounded by Alabama." Hey, I didn't make it up.

After visiting the Space and Rocket Museum, my parents took the girls on a mini vacation back to Texas. The girls were very excited...especially to see Pocket (my parents' Yorkie). I told the girls to at least look a little sad when they were posing for their "See you later, mom" picture.
