We officially moved into our new house on 12/8. That explains my break from blogging. Moving is such a chore. The last time we moved, it was just Adam, 4 month old Fallon, and me. Now, 4 years later, I can't believe how many things we have accumulated (including our precious Birkley). It has been fun finding everything just the right spot in the new house as well as enjoying new things. I did cry taking down and selling the girls' baby furniture. It is not that I miss having a baby, but there are so many memories associated with each piece. I really hated to see the swing go...I feel like I owe that particular item so much for all it did for me. During this crazy time, I took a brief break and flew to Chicago to meet my new nephew. He is so sweet, and I had a great time hanging out with my sister and brother-in-law. My sister and I had an especially fun time shopping on Michigan Avenue.
Fallon also had her Christmas program. Most children held on carefully to their candles (with light bulbs), but my Fallon used her candle as a microphone. She also had a dentist appointment recently. This girl loves the dentist! As we were loading the car to leave (cavity-free, I might add) she hugged me and said, "Mommy, thank you so much for LETTING me go to the dentist."
As for Birkley, she is officially a "Big Girl." She had adjusted well to her new bed. She does reappear a couple of times after the goodnight kiss, but she is happy in her room. The girls now have a Jack and Jill bathroom and I sense there is often some conspiring going on in there. Hey, that is what having a sister is all about. So, I let my 4 and 2 year old plan their sneak out.
Pictures coming soon! Wait until you see the Christmas tree Adam surprised me with...a live tree, almost 12 feet tall! I feel like I should strap on my ice skates and glide around it.
